Fiery Furnaces Live Review

Like every other live performance by brother and sister band Fiery Furnaces, there comes with it a genuineness that puts an infinite smile on your face. And amidst the "music" school snobs and hipsters they proved to the shall we say "intimate" crowd of fifty or so kids that lessons in rhythm are unnecessary to permutate through time changes and complexities of the sort. Playing a fairly balanced selection of songs from their six albums, most of the tunes came from last years Widow City (Thrill Jockey). The hightlight of the night for myself was arrhythmic rendition of In My Little Thatched Hut. Having said this  I would have liked to see them play a little more from Bitter Tea but the cute little couples seemed to want more of the warm and fuzzies than vietnamese telephone ministries speaking in tongue in their ear.
